Thanks to NYCAudiFiend, and some pics of his 4.2 w/Avus 18's (BWW)

NYCAudiFiend hooked me up with his forged 4.2 sport rims tonight, and I snapped a few pics of his car while I had the chance since I LOVE the Avus rims in 18". Here are a few shots of his car with his permission...

I love the look...too bad they need 20mm spacers

That's a real showstopper for me.

Yeah, those rims look sweet on the A6...

too bad they require spacers, even on the A6 2.7T, although they would only require 5mm spacers to work. Still....spacers = not the ideal setup.

Congrats on the sport wheels! If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for those?

hmmm...

wont quote the price, but I will say I got one hell of a deal since they have tires with a lot of tread left on them.

Do your rims 255 width tires? I thought some were running a slightly narrower tire. That's whats on these rims (255's)... any rubbing?

I have a feeling springs and shocks are on the way next spring after looking at your car!

My wheels came with 225s on them. I would have preferred 235, but close enough for now...

actually, in 2001, late in the model year, the 2.7T Sport came with 17" BBS wheels with 225 45 17 tires. There was a recall on some of those cars with a certain model tire because of the load rating, but the size was correct. In 2002, the Sport option package cars came with 235 45 17 tires. Both sizes are within tolerance of the original 215 55 16 tires.

Anyway, no rubbing issues, obviously because these are skiiny tires. I think Potomac might be better qualified to tell you about any rubbing issues.

When my 225s tire wear out, I'll replace them with 235 45 17 high performance summer tires. Then I'll run them for "special" events or summer only, with the 9-spoke wheels for every day driving spring and fall.

Post up some pics when you get those forged wheels mounted to the Jaspis Green car! It is going to put a smile on your face, I guarantee it!!!
