Okay, so I have a "few" mods lined up to make up for modless-August :)))
2) Still waiting for the complete RS4 carbon fiber engine covers from eBay Germany...
3) Just bought those Forge caps from "neilm" for under the hood, anodized black. Just a bit of bling for under the hood, for times opening the hood in the hood...
4) Still waiting for a solid chunk of time for the RS6 vented fender liners, but now I am thinking that I'll just wait until spring.
5) I must swap out the aluminum trunk trim strip. I don't know why I keep putting that off.
6) not really a mod, but I alos bought a new tweeter for the rear door. Mine is blown. Crackle noise when I listen to talk radio...sucks...the crackle AND the talk radio.
7) Tomorrow, the 4.2 door blades go on, for the "fake" 4.2 look. Among the items missing, those WIDE fender flares and the gas thirsty V8
((So, I guess that I am not "done" yet as I have mentioned to DHPress and A4AdMan before on the phone, but I've got a few small projects to knock off. ...end rant...
1) Pioneer Avic 2 In-dash Navigation with Ipod hookup
2) Timing Belt (Not really a mod but it has to be done)
3) Repainting Front and rear bumpers
4) Either allroad or s6 door trim
5) Rear Window Spoiler
6) Rear fog light mod and front fog mod
7) Magnaflow exposed tips
That should do it for the rest of september and august. In the spring i plan to get a new suspension and wheels.
Hey Boston, whats your first name? Im Joe btw.. Also where and how much did you pay for your clear corners?
Thanks for the compliment. There are a lot of great looking cars on this forum, from all over the place. I can only hope to keep up with everyone else. Most of my mods have been more for show than go. No chip, no big brake kit. "More bling, less zing!"
Anyway, clear corners were free. They are my stock headlights. nene (local RS6 guy) helped me remove the lamps and take the headlamps apart to do the clear corners. Heat gun to loosen the glue, and voila! The headlamp housings come aparts. No drilling, no scratching the reflectors, etc. The only hard part was getting those damn hedlaights out without removing the front bumper. It would have been IMPOSSIBLE if not for nene.
New suspension is a must for these cars, especially for a non-sport model. H-sport sways, and a more sporty shock/spring combo or coilovers are the ticket. Not cheap, but certainly brings a new feel to the ride!
Anyway, I am planning on going to the Haartford GTG on the 22nd. Not sure if you are venturing up from NJ, but maybe someday we'll meet.
Later!!!
