A little maintenance this weekend...
Two items on the list. I finally received the rear slotted rotors from Stoptech. That was a 30 min job to change out both rotors.
The second item that has been on my list for some time was my passenger side window guides. This really is a very easy job and it took one hour start to finish. IIRC, the green window guides are the bad ones...right? Both of these were the newer blue guides replace about two years ago. Guess what, one of those broke too!!!
Here is a quick pic of the frame out of the car. Already had the guides installed before I thought to take pictures.

Inside of the door with frame out. I've tried to figure out what the 272 means on the inside of the pannel. By the way...tip of the day for those who have done this before. Notice on the lower right side of the door frame, there is a white circle? My Audi Master Tech friend gave me this tip. Before you remove the 4 frame screws use a paint pencil to mark around the bolt head. That way when you reinstall, there is no adjustments necessary. Just make sure the bolts are centered inside the marks...it worked like a charm.

Just completed this last weekend...
Also on the passenger side. My broken guides were also blue, so its obvious why there is a 3rd design now (metal-reinforced pink). I was able to do mine without removing the window frame (saved a lot of headaches of re-aligning the frame, marks or not, still a pain). Just needed a short T-27 Torx bit and a 1/4" ratcheting-type box wrench. Had to move the window up and down a couple of times to get the best clearance for each side. Took me 45 mins (and I was really taking my good old time about it).
BTW, my door also had a number on the sound deadening material. Not sure what it means either.

Ahh..I've had 4 blue guides on the shelf since last fall. Knew I would need them
I guess I could have checked before installing. Glad to know they finally are fixing that issue.
I never have encountered any alignment issues with this maintenance item. Are you refering to the window or the frame to body fitment?

Here's what the new ones look like...
Notice its now a metal clip clad in plastic. On the alignment, I was talking frame to body. I know if you mark the bolts, its really a non-issue, but I'd rather avoid doing it if at all possible.<ul><li><a href="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/88818/window_clips.jpg">new guides</a></li></ul>
