Default Cool mods that seem ridiculous once you get to a track driver training event. (EDIT)

I've had this list bubbling in my head. I consider myself one of the weak, girlie-men whenever I am at a track event. I have the pencil-type air pressure gauge and usually realize after the first three sessions that my golf clubs are in the trunk. Compared to the "real" track guys, I'm a sad poseur.

Along that theme, there are mods that have relevance at the track, and then there are the mods that seem silly and make you seem like a girlie-man for even thinking about them. Let me know if I missed any.

> Debadging. Very little benefit from weight loss (none, in fact, if you keep the digits in a baggie in your trunk like me).

> Window tint. You keep your front windows open anyway; and what's good about being able to see less?

> M5 (or other) spoiler. OOOOooooh, big downforce!

> Chrome strip around the lower grill (look Mommie, my car looks like a 2002 now!).

> Painted calipers (extra credit if you put the Audi ring decals on).

> Clear corners. Zooooom! (EDIT) ...and anything "smoked" or covered with carbon fiber.

> Exposed tips mod. (Pickin' up at least 2 HP by eliminating that last bend!)

> Door blades. (Because I think they look good, and that's all that matters to me!)

Default Had you been under the assumption...

...that these mods were for track events only?? Dude, we're ALL vain!

Default Unfortunately....I have many of these...you're 100% correct, but I like the way it looks!

And since I don't track the car, it's not a loss. But when I replace the brakes, I will be looking for performance. Do I get any credit for the Eibach Pro-System, Toyo's and PSK?

Default You're apsolutelly right

but most of us do it just fro fun anyways. I would never take my car to the track since its "just" a 3.0 FWD but if I get a turbo one day I def. will look into the track events.

Default No offense meant to anyone. Just a sobering observation.

And I really did have a pencil tire pressure gauge at VIR. What's a few PSI when you're hauling golf clubs in a de-badged trunk?
