<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/97197/pimped.jpg"></center><p>hello all!
First time on the board for me and my ride.
OK so the pic has been photoshoped, but you get the idea.

I am looking to get some snow tires for the winter months (many trips to the mountains for skiing) I find that the tires that came on the car (continental all season) are not great in any season really. Anyone have suggestions for snow tires that will last a few seasons and have good traction in the snow?

at the end of the winter i will need similar advice on some new 18" rims and summer rubber.

Thanks all!

Default Well, start by raising the car so you can clear snow banks and ridges ;-)

You'll find tons of tire info in Stoney's FAQ in the link under my sig, or by checking with the Tire forum.

Blizzaks are good. Nokians are better...but expensive. See tirerack.com for more ideas.

I've had good experience with Dunlop WinterSport M2/M3's.

Default Dunlop Wintersports work well, however for really greasy, wet snow....

Nokian Hakkas are the way to go.

I was thinking Dunlop Winter Sport M3, the price is good. and performance may be almost acceptable on dry pavement (in town)

The snow is pretty dry around here.

Default I use Goodyear GS-D3s in the Summer and Conti Extremes in the Winter...

I like the Contis because they're good around town during the mild winters in Denver and have good traction in the snow in the mountains.

The problem with snow tires in Denver is that there just isn't enough snow on the ground throughout the winter. As a result, you'll burn through a set of snows every season.

When I replace the Contis, I'm going to go with a Nokian WR. The WRs are a sticky all-season tire that performs really well in the snow and provides good performace in the dry.

Good luck

Long front overhang + easy to tear off front bumper = potential disaster.
