ECM covered under warranty to 80K??

Read on this forum that the ECM might be covered to 80,000 miles. Is this true? Just had my ECM replaced on my 01 2.8 A6 Q at 45,000 miles but 6 months out of warranty. Don't have my warranty book which is in my car in the shop 4 hours from home but would like to know if any way I can get Audi to cover this $1400 repair??

Yes it is. 80k or 8 years for ECM, Cats and OBD.
