Turned 100,000 yesterday, today it's Friday (to me) and I love my car. :)
<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/62575/p4190413.jpg"></center><p>I have tomorrow off, packing for a 16 day honeymoon road trip. We are going to visit Chicago, Cleveland, the Poconos, Boston, Cape Cod and New York.
The A6 is running great, but with 100k on it, we decided to rent a car...
I am leaning toward the Ford Taurus, but a Lincoln Continental, or Crown Victoria might be nice,,, your opinions,,, what is your second favorite, non-german, available from Hertz, (preferable american) touring car that is still nimble and durable enough for New York & Boston streets??
I have been to Philadelphia a couple of times, so I kind of know what I am in for as far as the driving... but, anybody have any east coast driving tips for a audi owning, but not audi driving MN boy?

so that's what a functional center display looks like...huh.
I turned 100k like 2 weeks ago. Granted only about 3k of them were mine, but still.
My only tip... don't drive out onto the cape on a Friday afternoon. Do anything in your power to go at any other time. 2AM is preferable to 2pm on a Friday.
As for car selection...they do have their 'Prestige' selection where you can sometimes get a new A6. You could also go the convertibel route and get a Thunderbird or something for open air cruising.

Thanks for the tip, we are planning to be near the cape on sun night or mon morning...
I looked at the prestige collection,,, a bit more than I have in the budget. I am trying to keep the car rental near $1,000. taurus comes in just under 1k, Lincoln comes in a bit over 1k.

Road trip honeymoon - that's great! If you want local knowledge on Boston and the Cape
drop in on the NE forum and ask. As far as the rental goes, my favorite Hertz cars these days are:
1. Mazda 6
2. Ford Fusion/Mercury____
3. Volvo S60 (premium pricing, though sometimes only a few bucks more)
Skip the Lincoln and Crown Vic. You'd fit in perfectly in the Poconos, but feel like a dope in Boston and NYC.
