Oil warning light & DTC

Hi guys,
I have a 99 A6 1.8T. The oil light has just come on (Intermittently). Oil level is fine etc

Could this be the SLUDGE problem ?? If so does any one know of a " how to remove the sump etc and clear the crap out " ??

The DTC I get is
17964 - Charge Pressure Control: Negative Deviation P1556 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

16717 - Knock Sensor 2 (G66): Signal too High
P0333 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

There is a ticking sound from the engine ? does not happen all the time though .

Any thoughts

Is for its a UK spec Car. 1.8 Turbo Petrol

by that do you mean drop the sump ? If so whats the best way to do that ?

huge job

Vw/Audi techs in the US get paid around 10 hours warranty (14-15 hrs customer pay) to perform the tech bulletin for sludge. It involves replacing crankcase breather lines, turbo lines, and dropping the oil pan, cleaning out the mess, and replacing the pickup tube and sometimes even the oil pump.

HUGE JOB

This issue also happens with VW 1.8T Passats that don't change their oil every 5k miles. You are supposed to use synthetic oil as well to help eliminate sludge.
