Default mad shimmy between 60-70mph

I had the wheels balanced hoping that it would solve the problem, but that didn't do the trick.

I think one of the tires has worn unevenly (I bought the rims and tires used and just put them on this spring), but I want to figure out what the other possible/likely causes are.

I can think of:
-wheel balance
-bent rim
-unevenly worn tire
-alignment

What order should I try to rule them out? Should I go get some new rubber? Purely from a MM point of view, these tires should last another year or two as summers only.

The other option - is never drive below 75mph on the highway. It's silky smooth around 80.

Default did you get them road force balanced?

It could be your tires... Mitch S6 had the same issue but got it fixed with different tires.

Default 2nd . . Or out of round tire due to improper storage?

In any event, I'd take it back to the shop that did the balancing and ask for another look.

If they are reputable they'll do it again free of charge and also check for out of round tire or bent rim (which they should have looked for when they did the balancing to begin with).

Default Get them road force balanced and ask them to validate the rims are straight...

I'd think anything after that would be the tires...

Default RFB is good, but

Its nto really needed. Roadforce is a crutch for people who wont look at a wheel and tire to determine if there's an out-of-round condition, which shoudl really be fixed, not covered up anyway.

I personally use simple, old, btu very well maintained equipment and do it all by eye. I've had the geniuses at Audi use the Hunter RFB machine and not catch what I can with my eyes. And maybe my very expensive eccentricity guage, called a screwdriver or straight-rule.

Shouldn't an out of round tire/rim do the shimmy at all speeds?
