control arms set...which to buy?
Looking to clean up the slop in the front. I figure w/ ~80K I might as well do all upper/lower CAs and the TREs, as opposed to trying to figure out which are bad and doing it piecemeal.
Ebay has 3 different "grades" of Hamburg. 1st ($368) and 2nd ($425) grades seem about the same, and the 3rd ($499) offers RS6 front upper CAs.
Are the RS6 Front uppers worth extra$? Hamburg vs. Meyle vs. Febi? Searching seems to reveal some debate on which brand is better.
Also, should I do the sway bar links while I'm in there, or not?

Pass on the Meyles and Ebay cheapies. My Meyle tie rod ends failed after 20K...
Many posts (search the B5 S4 and this forum) re Meyle CAs failing within 20-30K.
Go with Lemfoerder or Febi-Bilstein. Pure-motorsport.com is the place to go.
Fyi, the B5 S4 TREs are solid and provide better steering feel than the A6 version. The B5 S4 upper CAs are supposed to have a harder bushing then the A6 CAs for improved response/feel

Febi/Bilstein kit from purems.com (everything you need for under $500)...
all front control arms
outer tie rod ends
sway bar end links
includes all new bolts/fasteners.
I just replaced all mine and was very happy with their service.
