OK - so here is the operation. I started by making some cuts to the valence myself. I took some pics.

As a next step, I used a product called Forever Black to make thegray valence darker. I hated that the only gray part of my car was the rear valence, so I decided to make it black...which is nice since the rest of the car already is Black.

Then I went to Billy finally today and he decided I'm an idiot and he needed to clean things up and cut the hole the way it should be done.

At about this time, BostonDriver showed up. It was cool meeting 'The Man.' Actually I think he was there collecting his cut for pimping out Billy. He kept mumbling 'my beotch better have my money.' Hehe... actually, Henry was as meticulously dressed in person as you would expect considering how he treats his car.

Next, the tips went on without any trim yet.

Then we got the whole thing done. The light was crappy at that point so the pic isn't very good, but you get the idea.

Bottom line, I am psyched. It came out great and I had fun trying to start the project myself. Thanks to BD for the introduction to Billy and letting me borrow his personal modder.

I love how dark the rear valance is with Forever Black. I forgot about that stuff. There's my next clean up item. Thanks for the tip.

 

You will want to do about 6 coats of Forever Black. I went and bought a 1" sponge paint brush. It works a little better than the built-in applicator. So, pull the top off and just pour some into the cap or a plastic cup and just paint it on. Every coat makes it look better and you will get past any streakiness that you see in the first coat or two. It's almost addictive - I am tempted to put on coat 7 - 8 and 9...it just keeps looking a little better.

Very clean. So you cut the OEM tips just before the downturn. Who makes the straight tips?

 

What is this stuff? Is it a paint or something less agressive than that? Never heard of it but would love to darken up my valence as well...

 

It's the bumper and trim product.
I found it when I wanted to get my black trim pieces that had faded from sun and wax back to black.
