Wheel fitment question
My car is 2001 A6, 2.7, has the Lucas HP2 (larger) front brakes. Car came with 16 x 7 with 45 mm - marked inside of wheel (offset I believe ?) wheels - tire are 215/55/16. Curious to know if a set of Audi OE 17 x 8 (48 - marked inside of wheel)will work. These came of a 98 A8. The bolt pattern lines up, I mounted one on the rear of car. Don't think it will fit on the front as the current tires are 225/55/17 size -too tall. I assume I want to run a 235/45/17 tire on a 17" rim.

The 2001 A6 with sport package came with 17 in. BBS RC wheels with a 43 mm offset (ET), and the standard tires were 225/45/17s, I believe -- at least that's what I have on mine. I have a feeling that Boston Driver mentioned some time ago that 235/45/17 was about the limit -- you might want to STFA on this.

Not sure what wheel you are trying to fit on the car, but...
ET48 will be tight. Sicne you have the wheels, why the heck don't you just test fit them? You'll know if they don't fit, just look at the inner edge of the spokes where they meet the caliper!!!
