Anyone else have their S6 jack blow up whilst changing a flat tire?
Mine did on a dead flat parking lot- luckily the doughnut spare was in place to catch the car but upon inspection of the jack, I'd have to say it's the cheesiest, cheap POS imaginable, especially in light of it being provided as equipment on a $60k car---
Insult to injury is that the warranty expired only days before.
Anyone know of a source of a better quality jack that will stow reasonably well? A OEM replacement is $140.

'Tis is a question asked a hundred times on every forum on AudiWorld...
...although usually the thing just loses its balance and falls over. The one on that's with my allroad seems of beefier construction than the one that came with my S4, or maybe the black metal just looks beefier than the silver metal...

I have used the OEM jacks on various VAG cars and never had a problem but I can see...
that it is critical that the car cannot move at all.
Any lateral movement could cause the it to twist and loose its strength then just fold up.

Mine failed on me too.
I honestly dont even think it is safe to use in any situation, after the failure. Any kind of movement to the car, from pulling off a wheel for example, can bend the little base of the jack, and tip it over.
I replaced mine with a full aluminum jack that I keep in the garage. Emergency road side tire changes and Im calling CAA. I have a full membership that I barely use anyway.
