New York Mod Shop
I was at Riverside Audi this morning in West New York NJ, and the parts guy was telling me about a mod shp they like to do business with in NY. Does anyone know the name of it, or a good place to go for suspension, and or chip work. Also, what do you guys think about the need to add an exhaust wiht a chip. Necessary? Also, is removing the big air filter box and replacing it wiht a K & N or something like that even worth it?

As far as the "mod shop" in NY that Riverside likes, I do not know.
But if you are in NJ, KMD tuning has a very good reputation among the tuners. They do suspension, chips, & all sorts of engine upgrades. Dion is the General manager there, and will take care of you. (You can tell him I referred you off Audiworld).
As far as your question with the need for an exhaust with the chip. It is not "necessary" at that stage alone. Later on if you decide to go larger tubos, downpipes etc., it will be necessary.
Air filter from the factory...most on this forum will tell you not to bother with K & N. if you want to look into one, look at the AWE "S-Flo". Also research "Darintake", which is basiclly a mod to the airbox housing itself.

So forget about K & N as a brand, is removing the air filter box and replacing wiht a much smaller cold air filter and larger intqake pipe(I see these kits for between $150 and $250 really worth it. They say they give you a boost of about 10 horses, I am probably going to get a chip, (any recomendations) and was thinking about chaning the factory air box as well...dont know if I am ready to spend $1000 or so to replace the exhaust,,,seems like the best bang for the buck is the chip...
