Default Caliper bolt torqing

I did my brakes last weekend and after reading a few bad experience posts here i decided to try a retourqe them a bit. I understand that there was a post about an issue using antisieze, which i did not use, but wanted to be sure. I set the wrench to about 100 ft/lbs which i understand is under the reccommended 140 or so, how ever i cannot seem to get them any tighter. I cannot even get them to 100ft/lbs. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Why can't you get it higher, torque wrench too short?

No they just won't budge any tighter I don't want to snap them or cause damage.

If the torque value is 140 ft.lbs., they won't break until over 140.

Default That's Nm, not ft-lbs!

Do a convertion at onlineconversion.com and buy a Bentley so you can check torque values for your specific car!

It's 190 Nm, which is 140 foot pounds.

Default Did you loosen the bolt that holds the brake lines to the back of the caliper?

Makes it much easier to get at bolts. Are they HP2 calipers(I just thought of this)? What kind of torque wrench, is it a clicker type, or 1 that has the bendy rod on it?

I have the clicker kind, would be nice to have the rod, then i can at lest tell where i am at. Thanks for the info, i'll give that a go.

Default Don't loosen brake line fittings, just the bolt that holds the long flat piece of metal. Turn the

steering wheel all the way in the direction so the back of the rotor is pulled out towards you too for easier access. A piece of pipe on end of torque wrench would help if you can't get enough leverage by hand(although this may change the torque reading?).
