2002- A6 4.2* 91oct 340hp/302lb-ft 93oct352hp/312lb-ft
has anyone had this done to their 4.2's...i can't believe the claimed numbers....40hp boost on 91oct and an amazing 52hp boost on 93oct for east coasters.

if this is true i will never bad mouth the tuneability of a 4.2 and may consider getting one myself just to feel the extra punch in power...that's alot of hp for an n/a motor.

can anyone verify?

Default I've seen it and I'm calling BS. A tune is not what separates 300 hp from the 4.2

and 340 from the S6 4.2. It's a combination of tuning, cams, intake manifold and a less restrictive exhaust system...

I think a 15-20hp is more reasonable.

Default allroad has the same 4.2 engine as the B6 S4, and APR claims they can increase HP in allroad to S4

level, didn't think A6 had the same motor, A couple of allroader have done the chip, and seem happy with it.

Default Didn't realize they claimed that for the A6 as well as the allroad...

...as skidmark says, the allroad has the same 4.2 (rear chain instead of front timing belt) as the B6 S4, whereas the A6 4.2, still has the front timing belt motor. The allroad 4.2 is tuned convervatively from the factory to run on regular unleaded, whereas the 340hp S4 is tuned to run on minimum 91 octane. I'd kind of doubt those claims for the A6 4.2, but I haven't found any reason to doubt them for the allroad 4.2.

Default With just a chip I would doubt it but maybe.

Perhaps the ECU is limiting power on the 4.2, I don't know, but generally it is not possible to chip that much power without turbos. Of course that engine is capable of much more power even than what you quote but with mods. I think the S8 had 360hp and they are getting even more on some newer Audis.
