Thre are no daytime running lights on the US spec A6 that can be activated by VAG COM...

not sure about Canadian models, I thought they ahd them but I am not as familiar with the non-US models. Sorry.

You need to do a hard wire direct to the lights from a switched source.

Switched only in the sense that it is switched on and off with the ignition.

Should not be too difficult to do.

I think he needs running lights in the headlamp, not the fogs.
