HVAC Blower - Troubleshooting
My HVAC fan quit working a couple days ago, prior to this it was having the typical squeel at startup indicating to me that the motor was on it's last leg. So it finally quit working all together, but when I took the fan out and hooked it up to the battery it still runs. I checked the voltage to the fan when turned to full and get 9.8 volts. Not sure if that is normal or not. The little fan speed bar still works fine as if it thinks the fan is working, but no fan. I'm thinking resistor or fan controller of some sort? I'm not sure how to check these, any help would be most appreciated!

One more thing maybe to factor in
I can't dignose, but if you have the hot weather package w/ the solar cell sunroof, you also have to look at that as part of the overall fan electrical circuit unfortunately.

Thanks for the reply. I don't have the hot weather package, but searching through the archives I saw a lot of people with problems with the solar power source.
Any other thoughts anybody has? I'll probably just start digging into it and see if I can find a way to check the resistors etc. Bently manual is pretty poor on troublshooting unless you have every factory test equipment item made...
