Torque specs for cams
Achtung! Most torque specs are given in both ft-lbs and newton-meters. Make sure you are checking your units both when you read the spec and set the wrench.
1. Move the power steering line from behind the engnine block - you don't need to disconnect it, just unscrew the 13mm bolt that holds the line to the back of the block. Hard to find, but its back there.
2. No need to remove the cams... unless u broke a bolt like I did....
3. Buy the Bentley!
4. Make sure your torque wrench is calibrated.
5. Take your time. We have 2 cars, so it wasn't such a big deal, but it did turn out to be a week long project since the local audi dealers here in Mpls didn't have extra cylinder head bolts (for the cam chain tensioner).
Again - thanks to everyone on the board!
Next: front pads and rotors, tie rods, and timing belt / water pump. Oh - and the accessory belt.
I'm sure I'll be back with more questions. Again, thanks for all the insight.
