Default Timing Issues

I have once again (5th time) reset the timing belt due to numerous air flow metering and cyl 3 misfire codes. I think I may be having a problem with the timing belt tensioner. After I set the timing belt the car runs great for a day and then goes to crap! The last time I did the belt check, I noticed that the tensioner was slow to respond and seemed to almost stick in certain spots. Could this be my problem? I'm assuming if the belt doesn't stay tight it could throw off the timing enough to toss cel codes at me. Thanks for everyones help so far!!!

Default What year is your A6, wgwebel?

And, is it a 2.8, 3.0 or 2.7T?

Default When you reset the timing, has it changed from the last time you checked it?

You souldn't need to touch the tensioner to set the cam timing BTW. You can loosen the sprockets without removing tension from the belt.

Default I believe the timing is very close...

because I have gotten rid of the hesitation from a stop, but I drive it for a day and then I am getting a P1227 Fuel air metering code. Could this be an injector going out? Or is there an easy way to clean the injectors and check that the injector circuit is working right? Thanks again for sticking with me!!
