Default Got my GIAC chip yesterday. Some hesitations ...

A local dealer in the area did the install. The car is a 2001.5 A4 tqm, so it had 170hp to start with.

The first run right after the install, I didn't feel hardly any difference in the hp. I came back to the shop and immediately changed the stock BPV with a TT one. The car was pulling a little harder and steadier afterwards. (note: I haven't noticed a boost loss before w/the stock setup).

However, it's still not what I've heard or maybe expected! It seems the car hesitates once in a while. Could there be something else that is wrong with it? Or, my expectation were a little too high? Everybody says, the car is an animal with it pulling you back in the seat, but I don't get that feedback. Maybe I need to get a ride with a similar setup here and see how mine compares with it ...

Any help is appreciated. TIA!

Default Just doing a chip will not pull you back in the seat, but...

there is a major difference between stock and chipped. You should definitely feel the difference. A boost gauge for your next mod would be great. =P

I was actually answering his post, don't remember him mentioning the x chip. We definitely have a different vision of the sentence "pull you back in the seat". Please take a ride in a big turbo setup and you'll definitely think different.

Default I'll definitely upgrade to the X chip, once it's available for A4. In the meantime ...

I am trying to figure out if there's something else I should look into, hose leaking etc. Again, best bet would be to compare w/somebody that has a similar setup.

PS> Looks like it's going to be few weeks/months for the X ...

Default well your comment was "doing a chip will not put you back in the seat" which I think is incorrect.

He's running a 01-01.5 which is X-Chip capable. If he's just looking for the turbo snap, the x-chip can do that. I didn't say it did it as well as a true turbo kick would be with say a GT-25/T28. I have ridden in a large turbo setup before(T4 Drag turbo setup in an integ) btw, and I guarantee you it has more snap than any found in a bolt on kit turbo for an A4. True the X-chip doesn't have as much snap as a big turbo, but it has plenty of snap compared to a standard chip.
