Default Addendum to One-Touch-Up Rear Windows

I took a cue from the tech article linked below and took apart my rear window motors yesterday. In doing so, I found a different connector/board configuration from that shown in the article.

I've drawn up a crude representation of my configuration. In the tech article, the leads from the connector appear to come straight down from the connector to the circuit board. That is, there are 4 leads on each side of the connector coming down to the board. In mine (a 99.5 A4), the solid leads coming from the connector to the circuit board were routed along the same side (8 on one side instead of 4 on each side). They contacted the board in a straight row of 8 contact points numbered 1 to 8.

Naturally, this made soldering a jumper between 5 and 7 more difficult than in the tech article because 5 and 7 were no longer next to each other. Obviously, neither were 5 and 8. Instead I used a small piece of 22 gauge wire routed around the leads for 6 and 7 as a jumper between 5 and 8.

Just thought I'd throw this one out there for those that come across this configuration.

One-Touch-Up Tech Article

Default wait, i don't get it. you said this drawing is what your connector looks like. then you said 5 and

7 are not next to each other, but in the drawing they are, so what do you mean?

Default They are next to each other on the connector, but...

not on the circuit board, which is where I did the jumper. That is, I did not do the figure-8 job somebody around here proposed. I soldered at the circuit board.
