Got bilstein shocks put in w/OEM springs. rears make clunking noises when going over bumps..(more)

I went back to shop that put in and they couldnt figure out. I asked firestone (while alignment) and couldnt figure out. The dealer wont touch it (even though I offer to pay). Any one familiar with this issue? Its driving me nutz. TIA

The rear shocks may not be in tight enough

This happened to me when I got mine installed. Does the rear of your car seem to pogo over bumps as well? If the answer is yes, that is probably the cause.

Thanks sooo much for installing the swaybar.

This thing is so great, but it does need to be set on "soft". I went on a little Las Flores run and could oversteer easily. Most people set it on soft for the street and hard for the track. I think I'm going to do that too since its so easy to adjust, especially since winters would be bad with this setup. Right now, the back end comes around so easly that I did donuts in a parking lot tonight :-O

are they brand new?

I just had one of mine replaced because of this. It wasn't brand new, but it was making a clunking noise, even over the littlest of bumps.

Once the shock was out, I messed around with it to see what was wrong. If you hold the base (yellow part) and wiggle the other side of it back and forth, that's what the problem is. It shouldn't do that. See if that's it. Hope this helps.
