Audi license plate frame: front?

Just wondering why the license plate frames listed on audiusa.com say they are for rear plates only. I live in a state where front plates are required, and it looks to me like the plate holders are the same front and back.

Has anyone used one of these frames in the front?

I have the brushed aluminum Audisport plate frame on both the front and back plates. Sorry, no pics right now.

Clair has them but they say "for rear frames only". Just curious why it says that
