OBDII scan tool
Since my 99.5 A4 1.8 tqms is off warranty now, I'm checking into generic VAG 1551 scan tool equivalents.
Any info/recommendations appreciated.

Tks, I'll check out their site
For the first time in the 3 years I have owned this car, I have the infamous check engine light on steady. After checking around, there could be hundreds of reasons why that light comes on, and without that tool your options come down to the dealer or guess.
