question for MA people.

Where did you get your a4 chipped at?
I live in western part of Mass. and I know
there are Shine racing for GIAC. And Adrenalin for the APR. I am trying to get X-Chip, so anybody chipped at Shine Racing?
Also anybody did e-code? Can e-code pass the vehicle inspection?

Do it yourself.

It takes about 2 minutes to swap ECU's and as long as you have a 8mm socket (its either 7 or 8mm) and a flat head screw driver your golden. Most places will have a quick turn around for shipping or may be able to work out a loaner ECU. I don't know about the e-codes, probably depends who is checking the car. I'm sure the amount of "thoroughness" varies.

I might do it myself.....

still deciding what to do, If I do it myself it is either send my ecu or just buy chipped ecu...I have two weeks to decide because I am out of country right now. Do you know how long they take to program my ecu and return?

Give your cheap maker of choice a call

Everyone is probably different. My 1st chip was Wett and they had a 2-3 day turn around. Same when I switched to my APR S3 setup. And like I said some people may offer a loaner.
