what are symptoms of a bad coilpack?

Well
Early stages usually feel like a studder or clutch slip at higher RPM. Not quite as much power, and a little vibration.
As the pack fires less and less consistently, the vibration gets worse, the symptoms occur at low RPM as well, and sometimes it even feels smoother at higher RPM, though I'm not sure it's actually firing any better up there. Engine tends to feel really off-balance. At this point, you should see a CEL.
Finally, the pack gives out, and you're driving on 3 cylinders. This is when you stop driving and call a tow truck unless you're like 2 feet from the dealer.
These are my personal experiences with the last 4 I've lost.

when my 3rd cylinder pack began to fail it always misfired at the same RPM, only under WOT.
It also never occurred until the engine was at full operating temp. If I weren't going full throttle it wouldn't happen; after two weeks or so I was able to reproduce it easily.
