Default I've got the no-Sparco blues...

So I'm taking a real close look at my pedals today--you know, getting ready to install my new Sparco pedal covers. Anyone in a 2001 A4 1.8t done this? The clutch pedal is cast, the brake pedal is hollow, and the gas pedal isn't even metal? (Its some sort of plastic or something!)My hopes of heel-toe driving just went out the window.

Any solutions/suggestions?

Default Most on this forum will tell you its very hard and a PITA, it isn't. Here's how I did it...

The only challenging part is taking the stock rubber pedal covers off the brake pedal and clutch pedal. Just pull as hard as you can and keep trying. I used pliers as well, it just takes a little while. After that, its time for drilling. I only used one of the nuts that came with the sparco set. Get a 13/64 drill bit that will go through soft metal. That bit should go through the metal like butter. Use a corded drill, it will give you the power you need. For the top screw of the brake pedal, I used the hole thats already there, just got a longer screw and used a nut at the end of it. Drill the hole, then use a 6mm x 1.00 tap to tap the hole. Now the hex screw should screw right in there and stay there. The nut will not be needed to hold it in place. Thats it, you're done. For the gas pedal, do the same thing, but the rubber stays on the stock pedal. The sparco pedal goes right over it. Happy heel-toe shifting!

Default It can be done...just get yourself a good drill bit and a dremel and some advil...

It sux but it's worth it...also a few longer bolts will be useful as the ones included are kinda useless...IIRC.
