working with Aof A

maybe some one can help me with the best way to approach these guys, i need a new throttle body for different reasons than the recall, and they (a of a) say my car is covered for tb replacement under recall BUT i am in germany, my car is a u.s. model, and the audi dealer here just told me they don't cover the recall over here... a of a is looking into reimbursing me after if i get work done here and will let me know monday... i have suspicion they will say no, gee, what gives me that idea, anyway, what is best tack if they do say no? thanks in advance for help that i know is on the way, kk

Does the recall have anything to do with safety?

If yes, then a hint that you will raise a stink w/ the media if you don't get the recall work covered will probably sway their decision.

Yes it does. Heh, I wouldn't take that approac, but rather express your concern of safety/health.

Good luck with that. AoA will not help. Just buy a used one and install it.

Actually they will say yes...

All recalls in writting state "...if you have already done this repair, send us the bill...."

Just do it and send the bill in. You will be better off if its done by an audi dealer as they won't even flintch at the price you pay.

Just get a name of your contact at AoA and mail it to them.

thanks guys, i think i will take it to the audi dealer here and do it... it is starting to deteriorate, idle is a little rough and feels like the throttle cable has play in it... slight hesitation with acc/de-celeration, new thing is the radio stopped working... turned it off while doing vag-coms and closed that beautiful wood cover and upon opening and turning on radio, no power to radio! fuse is ok, at least the one terminal of 2 for that radio that has a fuse... now what? as soon as i get all these little things fixed, she's on the block!!! check the classifieds, thanks again,
