Trim swap help
I am swapped my dark wood for some Vavona and am having trouble on a couple of parts. The first is the dash piece on pass. side. I can get one clip loose but the rest are really tight. How strong is that plastic? Should I remove the glove box to get to the rear of the 4 legs?
Next are holes for the 6spd console and the Tip the same size? They appear to be but when I swapped the narrow alum. bezel from my 6spd to the new Tip console it will not fit in the hole perfect as it is slightly too big. I have tweaked it but still no joy!

The 2003 tip shift surround and the 6-speed are NOT the same size...
since you have the PRNDS shift setup. You will have to find the 2001 and earlier shift surround, which will be the exact same size opening as the 6-speed. Then just swap the manual shift boot cleat with the tiptronic gasket ring and you are good to go!
Yes, the glovebox trim is very stubborn. THere are four long pegs that hold that sucker in. If you pull too hard, you might crack the clear resin coating over the wood.
Best to use a plstic putty knife on the bottom edge and try to coax it out.

Ok thanks BD, I am glad you confirmed that....kind of. Well as Vavona trim is hard to find I hate to send it all back and wait for a 6spd or 2001 Tip console. I have swapped the gasket parts but the alum. trim just barely misses fitting. I think I might break out the grinder/sander and enlarge the opening a little.
