Advice w/ fixing 2.7t before selling. Front driver side shock probs along with ABS & brake light
Also my ABS light comes on flowed by a flashing brake light and 3 beeps. The lights then stay on. But other times I'll start the car and they don't come on at all. If anyone has input on this I'd love to hear it. But I'm thinking about just having that problem fixed at the dealership.
I'm a complete noob so I apologize. I'm fixing up my A6 that I just got a few months ago. I had planned on learning how to fix and mod the car. But a week after I bought I found out that I was going to be a father... and since this baby, along with my fiance's 4 and 3 year old daughters from a previous marriage, makes number 3. The Audi isn't going to cut it for now
Once I sell the spec house that I'm sitting on though, I'm goign to buy another 2.7t... but I'll spend the money to get a 2002+ MT.
No. 2 is classic ABS controller failure, the only fix is a new controller. See modulemaster.com
If it is the shock, you should do all 4. Equals $$$$
Its the controll mudule that Bosch makes which is faulty. All audis (at least A6's) have it and its only a matter of time. You can have the module rebuilt for 160.00. Its a very easy DIY and can save you a lot. The dealer will tell you otherwise; they will claim its the pump and that you need a whole new system put in for 1500.00!!! in parts alone. The module is to the left of the engine in that wierd looking black box with tubes going all around it.
2. The noise in the driver side is a ball joint. CV boot that has broken and spilled all its grease making metal rub against metal. I haven't had this replaced but i think 300.00 is a safebet at any decent repair shop. Its a really primitive job, nothing high tech for the dealer to be needed.
here's is a link for the ABS rebuild:

Good luck!
I guess I was assuming shocks since it seems like now I can feel every bump in the road.
