Did anyone with V8 engines started to get coil pack failures?

whats more real wood, the fiberboard or the a6's wood trim?

easy - the wood trim is real wood, albeit only 1/32 or so thick.

There were some a few years back, Finman's '02 S6 was one

There were at least a couple others. Haven't heard of many lately. Somewhat surprised to hear of it on the Allroad as that is the newer "chain timed" version of the V8. Don't know if it uses the same coil packs as the A6 "belt timed" engines that we have.

I had a few random mis-fires a while back. No total failures though...

Two failed in first few years under warranty; none since

I've had 2000 4.2 since new in Nov. 1999. My VIN says my car was among the first 800 2000 A6's built--I have the older ART engine (later was AWN). No issues w/ coil packs in last 5 years and I've changed plugs twice.
