hard to say which one has "better" clearance than the other...
as ZCD2.7T said, they both clear the HP2. I'd say that the fat five 4.2 sport wheel might have a tad bit more clearance, but not much.
Why not look at the B5 S4 forum and see how many B5 S4s drive with a BBK that you are considering with the stock wheels? That might help.
FYI - The Porsche 993TT Stage III kit from ECS fits fine under the stock 4.2 sport wheels.
