tranny drive shaft seal leak???
As usual I brought my car in for the quick and easy maintenance check, and the the Audi tech said that I had a leak in the drive shaft and they would fix it for $495.
I did not remember seeing any stains in my garage so I said no. When I got home I saw a few small stains about the size of a silver dollar on the garage floor.
Should I check the tranny fluid frequently to see if it is low, or should I just bite the bullet and have Audi fix it.

Three drive shafts exiting the tranny, which one? Anyway, these rotary shaft seals are easily fixed.
by adding ½ can of engine snake oil to the final drive gear oil, for less than $2.

My "snake oil" is what ever Engine Oil Stop Leak Seal Restorer is currently on sale.
Typical brands being CD2, STP, PDQ, or whatever. All work. Never had seal leak not correctable, many cars >300K. But for you skeptics not willing to invest $2. Go for the $495. seal replacement.
