Return of the Boost.. well sort of.. with questions of course
What I found out was that my diverter clamps were so loose they were just spinning on the hoses. I know when I installed them I tightend those bad boys down, so somewhere along the line the Gremlin got me good. Probably why I felt like my car was falling off lately.
Anyhow, install went like instructions, however I did not fully remove the passenger's headlight as it is a Byatch to get out so I just slide it over sideways to get a little more room.
After install I heard a huge wisp of air from around the throttle body area and said oh my gawd did I really screw this thing up as I did have some trouble with the crappy O ring gaskets they provide. (I noticed that some of one of them got shaved off somehow as I put the pipe onto the throttle body and positioned it. Can see a hair of it sticking out the side of the pipe)
Found out (at least at this point) that it appears to only be one of the mini hoses going to the diverter on the driver's side. I need to find a very small hose clamp as they were held on by small zip ties as per Stratmosphere instructions. (knew that was a bad idea). That thing is really loose were it attached to the metal ipe fitting coming from the engine. (Diverter side is fine)
Anyhow while I was fooling with the little hose while the car was on (which is how I chased the air leak to) I threw a code for "random cylinder misfire). Re-ziptied the hose until I can get a mini clamp, and cleared it and drove for 30 minutes and it did not return yet. Never had that code in this care before and I go 105K on the clock.
Could a strong leak from that little hose on the diverter throw that code?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Matt
PS: now my top cover does not fit so well because of the higher hoses that sit the diverters up, anybody else run into this problem?
