Default A6 3.0 or A4 1.8T

After packing on 160,000 miles on my 97 A4 quattro I am looking at picking up another Audi...trying to read up on reviews for the 2003 A4 1.8T and the 2003 A6 3.0 Any experiences or advice on which would be better to pack on a ton of miles too would be appreciated.

Default if you like space, the a6 is a nice step up on the a4

both motors are solid motors, of course better mileage with the 1.8t. it's all up to personal preference.

Default Vastly different cars. The A6 is longer, wider, and more luxurious. The A4 is a bit tighter, but

obviously handles better.

If you like gadgets, need room, or make long road trips, the A6 will be perfect. If buzzing through the canyons and modding your car are important to you, then the A4 might be the better choice.

See Stoney's FAQ under my sig for A6 documentation.

Default I would pick up a 2000-2002 A6 4.2 or 2.7t with less than 50k on the clock for about how much a 3.0

goes for.

Default or the new Passat is between the A4 and A6 in size (heresy!)

That's why I just bought one, cheaper than an A4, bigger, and about equal in other respects, except no Quattro.

Default Good choice for all the right reasons. VW's "4motion" is their "marketing"

of Audi's Torsen quattro system.

Alas, except for the Touareg, all other VW awd systems now use Haldex.

Default Even the longitudinal layouts? I knew the transverse platforms used

the Haldex.

Well, I try to learn something every day...now this day is complete!
