Anybody's A6 makes humming noise after its parked and turned off??
<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/106705/a6_graphic_copy2.1.jpg"></center><p>this is weird. after driving all day, when i turn my A6 off and get out, i hear a "mmmmmmm" humming noise coming from the rear passenger corner. sometimes it has intervals like "mmmmm,mmmm,mmmm" and sometimes its just one continuous humm. i started the car up and let it run for 20-30 minutes and turned it off, with no humm. it only happens when im driving. anybody know what this is?

the purpose of the EVAP system is to prevent fuel vapors from escaping...
..into the atmosphere. Nowhere did I say it would hurt the EVAP system to loosen the gas cap.
But it will defeat the purpose of the EVAP system if you release the gas cap which will enable fuel vapors to escape into the atmosphere.
