2001 A6 Driver side window is acting up.....

When I put the window down all the way, then try to put it back up again it will stall halfway and then I have to pull it up the rest of the way. I brought it to a shop and the guy quoted me $350 to fix motor. Does that sound right????

Please help me!

do a search for window guides....pretty inexpensive fix

It's not the motor . . .

Like Press said, the problem is probably broken window guides. The guides themselves are little plastic parts and fairly inexpensive. However, you have to take the door apart and the window frame out to get at them. Labor costs can therefore be fairly high.

You can easily do it yourself in about an hour, but you must be patient. There are lots of different connectors and fasteners to remove. mines doing this too, but it only happens when its hot out or reaaaally cold contractions/expanding

Mine did this last winter...

The window would start upward then reverse an drop down. It was, of course, 5F and snowing hard.

Sprayed some silicone lube down the tracks and it hasn't done it since.
