I finally need to repair my packing tape fixed headlight..... anyone repair before?

Usual story.. boy meets girl, boy marries girl, girl runs boy's A6 into the house while he is away in Vegas and boy fixes it with packing tape that lasted 6 months.
5Speed6 had recommended a headlight tab repair kit from ECS a while back. Did you get the kit and fix it?
I of coarse do not want to buy an entire new housing, so I am hoping that this kit will work on these tabs. If anyone has used it, please let me know if it will work on these tabs or not!
The tab is the one covered in tape...split in half:

The chrome piece under is also falling out (as the headlight seperates from the fender (you could see where the tape was...which held the headlight close to the fender and kept it from bouncing around)

I'd say try the ECS kit..

If you have all or most of the pieces, try gluing them back together with ABS pipe cement...

You may have to remove the headlight to do so effectively. No BTDT on A6 light fixtures, but has worked well on many other moulded ABS parts, most recently on leaking turbo after run pump housing.
