Default (03' A6 2.7t -tip) Closing in on 100,000 miles -- do I sell it or keep it ?

Just got the quote for a fully inclusive timing belt change (including various other upgrades while they have the engine apart). Estimate is around $1,700. I also just spent about $750 total fully upgrading my 100k mile tune-up parts(Denzo Irideum pliugs, Mobile One Syn oil, Bosch fuel filter, K&N perminant air filter, etc) Also, just puton 20% "Silverstone" tint on my windows (cost $225, but looks awesome!!!) Last week I walked out of Princton Audi ans spent $250 for floor mats, and a few replacement parts for interior and exterior.

Anyhow, I've been seriously looking into saving for a giac chip from AWE, and a few other goodies (cat-back exhaust, cold-air intake, etc) ,but I keep hesitating because the numbers really do add up quickly and in my family so do the miles (and more miles mean more wear and tear on parts, tires, brakes, etc.)

My question to you is more of a personal choice question: Would it be worth it to invest up to $5,000 more into this car over the next two years or would you look to trade it in for a comperable (2005 or so) A6 2.7 with 40-50k miles and start from scratch?
Thanks in advance for you time and thoughts.

Default its cheaper to keep her. and there is no 2005 2.7T, but you might want to consider...

a 2004 2.7T s-line.

But it doesnt really make sense. Find a good independent shop and treat her right, you should be able to keep it for another 50-60k.

Pitch the K&N Filter and don't bother with cold-air intake, waste on turbo cars.

Default depends on what you can get for your current car $$$$ and what a 2004 2.7T with 40-50k would cost yo

u. if you can sell your car and buy a 04 to your liking for (proceeds from your sold car and $5k or less) then i say get a new 04.

You say that the miles add up quick, so 2 years or so your right back in the same boat... keep it.

Default Before any "goodies" have a look at the control arms & tierod ends

If you haven't already done them I'd expect to soon. Just had mine done at 90K

160k???? Awesome! Now that's what I like to see!

You're a perfect example why I'm about 70-80% leaning towards keeping it. It get's tough though to do the math when you consider what it costs in maintanence and upgrades a month vs. the payment on a different car (especially when you have turbos to consider!).

I guess all car owners have this descision to make at some point.
