CV Boot replacement

Anyone replace the CV boots? My driver's side is shot and I'm wondering if it's just a better idea to do the axle than to try and pull and replace the boot.

Any comments?

I changed the whole axle. Raxles.com $140 for the axle w/ tools included. Pretty easy job.

A boot is $15 - 20. If you catch the tear early, there is no need to replace the axel.

If properly lubricated, CV joints last a long time. My wife's car is running on the original joints.

2nd...Just did the passenger side.

Prelubricate the bolt for the control arms. Messy job but $14.95 kit+ CV boot cramp tool for $8 and $5 for the triple square 10mm is hard to pass(So called triple square in the writeup is not 8mm but 10mm). Mine had 60% of the grease still in. 1 hour if doing it for a first time and bolt is not being stubborn.
Having extensions for the 10mm triple square does not hurt though.<ul><li><a href="https://www.audiworld.com/tech/misc27.shtml">Tech article --Kris Hansen has one as well without removing the whole axle</a></li></ul>
