Chipping vs Warranty
What's the situation with all y'all and your chipping your 2.7T's regarding your warranty ?
I know when I was talking to the car salesman at Audi, he said that if I chipped it then my warranty would be broken. He said if I wanted to avoid that, then I should get it done at MTM which are just north of Ingolstadt and are officially recognized.

Are most people here just accepting that they lose their warranty (possibly because it's already expired anyway) ?
I've only had this 2004 2.7T for a month now, so I've got a full 11 months of Audi warranty left, and I was told that I could extend it another year if I want. Seeing all the things going wrong here in this forum, I'm a bit nervous of really expensive repairs potentially coming my way. So keeping a "valid" warranty I think is important.
I wonder whether when trying to get something expensive repaired under warranty, if the first thing they do is check for it being chipped. This would be an easy way for them to get out of paying the claim, which is all insurance's main focus in life (finding a way they don't have to pay out).
Has anyone heard of a warranty not paying out because of the car being chipped?
Seems like the best of both worlds, but it costs you extra.

I say stick it to da man, but cover your butt b4 you do.
However I have had Audi cover other items while chipped (steering rack, wheel bearings). As usual, it will depend on your service manager, luck, phase of the moon, etc. whether the warranty will cover you.
