C5 A6 under consideration for performance and maint. concerns (4.2 v 2.7t)
Previous post.
"I did a bunch of runs today to calibrate my Race Technology AP-22 against a calibrated and certified Racelogic Vbox (with DGPS). On the 8 runs, I did brake torqued launches and yielded 0-60 times in the 5.6-5.7 second range. The best I ever squeezed out of my Tip S4 was around 5.9 seconds with typical runs being about 6.02 seconds. (probably 50 measured runs on the S4 with the Vbox)
I knew I liked this car for more than it's comfort.

The AP-22, before calibration, said the car was .2-.3 slower than actual times.
Car has an APR v5.0 chip and I was running the 91 octane program with 93 fuel. Stock exhaust."<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a6/msgs/581103.phtml">A6 tests</a></li></ul>
But if you want a car that's easy to upgrade, you should go with a 2.7.
After spending about $8k+ on my 99 1.8t, I don't think I want to spend more than about $2k on mods on the A6. I plan/hope to get some parts from classified and not have to pay retail....
Thanks again!
