Anything new on the red LED display problems?

Just thought I'd ask if anyone has any recent info on the LED display problems. Mine goes bad intermittantly. Its as likely to happen when the car is cold as when its hot. Seems like full lines of the LEDS drop out. Last I heard about this was that replacement of the unit was the only option and it was expensive. Its really embarrassing to have the main dash display go out in a car like an Audi. I just turn it off when its acting up so its doesn't **** me off.

Oh, they ALL do that. And the cam adjuster oil seals all leak as well...

no fix that I have heard of. Only fix = new cluster.

someone modified their a/c vent so that cold air was blowing on it- last i heard it worked

haven't heard anything since through.

mine never works. i tried putting the cluster in the freezer and then hooking it up when it was.

still cold... no improvement

Mine were only bothering when we were in the 90's -113 here. Only happened when I parked outside,

so I made sure I used my windshield cover, also made a small one to cover the panel itself. I'd only see a fade at the top, but after the car cooled down inside it almost always returned to normal. Now that it's cooled off, no problem at all.
