Default Question about my flasher relay

Ok so I have a problem with my driver side flasher.
After some trial and error (changing light bulbs and mix and matching the 1157 socket with the light bulbs i have) I have concluded that my driver side flasher does not want to flash. It flashes quickly as if my flasher is burnt but it is obviously not since the same flasher and socket work on the passenger side.

Now I would assume it's my flashers relay that is malfunctioning so I would like to change it.

My question is, if it is the relay what kind of relay do I need (I saw 2 kinds one with 7 pins and the other with 10) and 2 where is it?

From what I can tell it is where the hazard light button is but I have no idea how I would go about taking it out...I took out the plastic plate where the credit card and cup holder is and undid the 2 screws that i see but I cant take it out...it is stuck...do I have to remove the entire radio?!

I have an audi a6 1999 2.8 quattro..i need help

or if someone has an alternative to my problem (maybe it can be something else that is the problem)

Default the hazard button is the flash/directional relay..

its 5 minutes of time and 25.00 for the part.

Too cheap to just guess and fiddle. Easier to just do it.

Default ok so are you saying i should bring it to a mechanic?? are you saying that it might not be the relay

the flash directional delay would that not be the part which is busted in my theory??? or am i completly off?

Default If your problem is one side only, it's probably not the flasher unit.

My money would be on the front blinker socket.

See if the parking light stays on when the blinker flashes (it should).

Default i put the socket from the side that wasnt working on the side that was working..and it works 100%

like i said if i take out the piece that the light bulb connects into and put it on the side that works it will flash fine

if i put the piece from the working side and put it on the non working side it wont flash
ill say it this way

Driver side Passenger side

Socket1-bulb1=no go socket1bulb1=works Socket1-bulb2=no go socket1bulb2=works
socket2=bulb2-no go socket2bulb2=works
socket2-bulb1=no go socket2bulb1=works

i hope I'm making this as clear as possible i dunno its a little hard to explain...

one more thing i forgot to mention...yesterday BOTH side weren't flashing properly so today i was just fiddling around with the contacts on the sockets and i managed to get 1 side to flash..the weird part is yesterday the passenger side (which is the side that i managed to get to flash today) when i would try to make the flasher go on the light wouldn't even turn on whereas the driver side (the side that is not working today) would blink quickly when i set it to try and flash yesterday.

so maybe it is not the relay but something else?
i'm not sure what it could be but im comfortable saying that it is not the 1157 socket which the light bulbs connect into that are burnt nor is it the actual light bulbs because they all work on one side of the car perfectly fine.

I really need help on this

It's an inexpensive quick fix to replace the flasher relay, why not try.

The emergency flasher button(red Triangle) acts as the flasher switch and relay. Order one first for like $30 and see how it clicks in to get the other out. Mine blinkers were acting up last winter and replacing that button fixed the blinker issues
