everyone seems to be curious about the dreaded fading lcd, is it possible to transplant a working...

lcd from a newer audi(seems to be made better?)and put it into an c5 cluster? Also, another audiworlder posted a fix about putting extra pressure on either side of the lcd...the very bottom picture i circled what i was thinking was the contact point can anyone confirm? i tried pressing on that are while it was connected and nothing changed as far as the lcd screen lighting up better....

There's no fix. Search the forums and with my id and "DIS" in the title and you'll find more...

Those are not the contact points. It's a chip-on-flex kind of lcd.
Due to the limited space and high speed of data transmission it is impossible to come up with a cost effective solution.
Once the screen starts going, there's no way back.
