Default Hey fellow C5ers..Any suggestions for best used A6 Avant year...
I've been out of the A6/S6 world for a bit, but now a friend is currently thinking about a C5 A6/S6 and wanted to know if there was a better engine or year to look at then others in terms of problems/reliability. He lives in Denver, CO, so a turbo is his friend in that thin air.

From what I remember, the 2.7T is a bulletproof engine that can be modified if preferred. Any particular year to look at as well?

He's also going to look at an A4 Avant, so I'm going to Xpost there too.

If he wants the turbo, he'll have to go the Allroad route... My choice would be an 03 S6.

As much as I like the S6, I would lean toward the allroad

Default Hey BD, Long time. How you been? I was against the Allroad b/c...
in a used car, I would be concerned about the air suspension breaking down. Other than that, I assumed it was relatively the same as a C5 A6 Avant. Mebbe that's the wrong perspective given peeps here are recoing it.

Well, if you're going for a 2.7T allroad, the decontenting began in 2003. 2002 was the year there.
