Sounds like you either have too much negative camber or some loose suspension components.
Did you have the alignment checked and all the components checked for play?
Bear in mind, 40k is phenomenal on any even remotely performance oriented tire.

This could be fixed with a simple front end alignment, or could be caused by worn bushings, which will be more expensive.
Before you get new tires, take the car to a reputable alignment shop and have them diagnose the issue.
