Default Anyone interested in a set of Black Sport Seats?

someone in the New England area?

I hate to go against the rules and make a post like this but my transmission blew this morning and I need to gather some cash to fix it ASAP.

What happened to the tranny? 6spd or Tip?

Default 6spd...

it wont shift into any gears while running, when turned off I can *hardly* shift in and out of every gear except reverse. Clutch movement is fine, looks to most likely be a seized pilot bushing, the whole tranny needs to be pulled to service it.

I'm so distraught that I can barely type right now.

Default If a seized pilot bushing clutch would be ineffective and it would be the same as shifting without..

using the clutch. i.e. with zero torque in the drive line it should shift easily. May be more than the pilot bushing.

Default Try taking the load off of the trans to see if it shifts easier, like on flat ground...

I'm SURE that we could put together an army and help you get this thing fixed...

Are you sure you don't mean throughout bearing? Can you determine if the clutch fork and master cylinder are actually functioning?

Default Now for the real question

Did you happen to grind the gears shifting from 2nd to 3rd under load?

The pilot bearing could be seized but I haven't heard of that happening before on this transmission. But it would shift fine when the motor is off.

I was bit by a bent shift fork and mushroomed splines on 1st/2nd & 3rd gear clusters. I have a nice pile of gears on my shelf to prove it. When it happened, I was horsing around missed third gear...in a blink of a bad shift the damage was done.

Now, I did get the shifting working by forcing the gears to shift with the motor off. It was very disconcerting to force the gears in and out. This will work the mushroom off the gear splines and eventually it will shift. I did get the car drivable again but it was so annoying I finally pulled the tranny and had it rebuilt.

If I had it to do over I'd buy the Stasis transmission. It comes with the 4:1 center differential for $2899. That sounds like a lot, but I believe that is the ticket.

Like Kris said, I'm sure a group can help out on R&R'ing the transmission.

I may be way off, but it's just my opinion...your milage may vary!
