Default On the way back from an oil change today....

Bottomed out crossing a 4 lane road. Going about 40mph, and the road dropped out from under me.

pulled into the nearest lot, shut him down... 15 seconds after hitting.

How does it look? Hopefully just the lower pan...

Kinda nervous about the shop it got taken to. He said hes looked at Germans before, but who knows.

Default Now way, dude that suxs. Probably that guy messed up.
Anyways, looks like you'll need a new oil pan. Sorry to hear about that, did you have the splash shield installed? Or maybe did he forget to put it back??

I never had a splash shield.... Is a 99 2.8 supposed to have one?

Default Pull the pan and check for rod/crank damage. Don't run it until you do.
Better safe than sorry..

ALL A6's have belly pans. It wouldn't have prevented the damage, but it may have lessened it.

Default Well, looking at the damage pic; i think some flying debris cut the pan to a leak
a shield would have helped
